
Our very own chef Yuri created this mouthwatering recipe. It's super easy to whip up and we promise you, caramelized onions together with our Feisty Fella is a match made in heaven! This tart goes well for dinner as well as brunch. Enjoy!
Ingredients
1 sheet shortcrust pastry
6 medium red onion
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon cornflour
2 teaspoons soy sauce
5-6 thyme sprigs
1 Cultured black pepper cheeze aka. Feisty Fella
Method
- peel 5 onions
- cut them in thick slices
- fry them over medium heat with two tbsp of oil until they sizzle, then flip, make sure they start looking golden
- add brown sugar
- add the balsamic vinegar
- peel the other onion and chop into small pieces, fry in a pan with 2 tbsp of oil until translucent
- add cornflour, soy sauce and blend until Smooth
- line a tray with the shortcrust, pour the onion mixture evenly
- add the caramelised onion slices
- break down chunks of your favourite feisty fellarr and place them on top of the tart
- bake in the oven until the crust looks golden
- top up with fresh thyme
- wait until it’s set, slice and serve
