Caramelized onion tart with black pepper cheeze

Our very own chef Yuri created this mouthwatering recipe. It's super easy to whip up and we promise you, caramelized onions together with our Feisty Fella is a match made in heaven! This tart goes well for dinner as well as brunch. Enjoy! 


1 sheet shortcrust pastry
6 medium red onion
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon cornflour
2 teaspoons soy sauce
5-6 thyme sprigs
1 Cultured black pepper cheeze aka. Feisty Fella 


peel 5 onions
  • cut them in thick slices
  • fry them over medium heat with two tbsp of oil until they sizzle, then flip, make sure they start looking golden
  • add brown sugar
  • add the balsamic vinegar
  • peel the other onion and chop into small pieces, fry in a pan with 2 tbsp of oil until translucent
  • add cornflour, soy sauce and blend until Smooth
  • line a tray with the shortcrust, pour the onion mixture evenly
  • add the caramelised onion slices
  • break down chunks of your favourite feisty fellarr and place them on top of the tart
  • bake in the oven until the crust looks golden
  • top up with fresh thyme
  • wait until it’s set, slice and serve
